I can’t believe it’s almost the end of October, and Week Two of Fairy Tale Challenge training! For this week’s challenge, I invite you to try one of my favorite exercises: the plank! As a runner, it is imperative that we teach our core muscles to respond to the constant stress we put on them. One way to truly strengthen your core, is to add in planks to your workout routine! As for me, I’m going to try and plank before every long run. When I incorporate 3-5 minutes of core work before running, I notice a huge difference in my posture, speed, and stamina. I will be posting some of my favorite plank moves soon, but until then, I challenge you to time your plank and see how you do! You may perform a plank hold on your hands, or elbows, just make sure you note which one you choose, Modified planks are held on knees, not toes. Make note of your time, and be sure to check on your progress in weeks to come by incorporating this fun total body move into your workouts and/or daily routine! I’ll be posting a fun plank routine to my Instagram very soon! Posted below is Week 2 for #fitfabprincessacademy ![]()
